For more than 17 years we have provided accounting services to representative offices of non-resident pharmaceutical companies in Ukraine, whose offices are based in Kyiv.
Foreign pharmaceutical companies usually operate in Ukraine by registering a representative office, which may or may not have the right to carry on commercial activity. This is what determines how the office is taxed — and, with it, the specifics of its accounting.
As we provide these services, we watch closely for how far a representative office’s activity might count as commercial activity and where that could create tax risks. An important part of the work is accounting for the assets held by regional representatives, such as cars, laptops and fuel cards.
